Software Mining Migration Service

There is a limit to the amount any company can participate in IT rejuvenation projects whilst still maintaining business as usual during the development, testing and deployment phase. By limiting your exposure to the migration process - an activity which your IT resources would have limited experience in, but in which SoftwareMining specialize, you can lessen the impact on your organisation. Software Mining's services are very flexible and designed to allow you to specify your level of involvement.

For any software project – including a migration of legacy applications - there are typically 3 stages:

  1. Analysis and Specification of Requirement
  2. Coding and Integration
  3. Testing

Software Mining's involvement in your project can be tailored to suit your needs.

Benefits:

Analysis Stage.
Specialist staff bring migration experience and expertise to your project. Typically part of the analysis stage is done on your site, to enable the involvement of your staff and their knowledge of your system. The completion of the analysis stage results in documentation of your system and identification of the components to be migrated.

Coding and Integration
The coding is completed automatically as a result of translation of the legacy application. This is typically done off site - SoftwareMining's system being tailored to handle any peculiarities of your code or compiler.

Software Mining provides on-site consultancy to ease these stages of the project. The build and integration work can be undertaken by SoftwareMining or the client resources.

Functional Testing
Functional testing typically becomes the responsibility of the client. Your in-depth knowledge of your own application will provide insight into the behavior and functionality of the new application.

Software Mining offers experience in providing functional test procedures, together with performance, load and stress testing of your application - to ensure the new application can perform under the most demanding of times.
